Have you ever tried to get dressed for a night out, tried on 27 different outfits and ended up sitting on your bed in your underwear, wondering if it’s ethical to just throw your whole wardrobe in the bin?
But you know it hasn’t got anything to do with the clothes… it’s about how YOU feel in them.
I remember my internal dialogue during those moments like it was yesterday:
Eww, those jeans make your butt look gross.
Your love handles are out of control girlfriend.
You should really get it together and lose some weight.
None of these clothes look good on you. You’re ugly.

Full transparency: My inner mean girl used to be a total b*tch!
The thing is: Dealing with that inner mean girl is not as simple as trying yet another diet to lose some weight (dieting is never a long-term solution anyway!)
It’s not as simple as pinning some inspirational quotes onto your mirror and magically feeling better about yourself (this never worked for me either!)
It goes SO much deeper than that.
We need to heal that inner part of ourselves that has been causing all this negative self talk and chatter in our brain for years and years.
We need to slowly chip away at all the layers that need our attention in order to heal.
We need to get to the bottom of why we feel so awful about ourselves.
Throughout the years, I had developed countless underlying beliefs about myself that caused me to never ever feel good enough.
I remember a time in my life where I felt like I had SO much to be grateful for, yet, I just couldn’t let myself be happy.
I just couldn’t shut that inner mean girl up for the life of me.
It took a while to truly get to the bottom of my limiting beliefs and understand why that negative self talk of mine was so ingrained in me.
The most important thing I gained was my confidence that I carry within.
It has nothing to do with the shape of my body and everything to do with knowing that I am worthy, I am enough, I deserve to have good things come my way and embrace them.
So, I want to ask you:
What if you could feel happy and confident in ANY clothes… without feeling like you need to lose 10 pounds first?
What if your body image wouldn’t be that nagging voice in your head anymore, but instead a peaceful inner voice that constantly reassures you that your body is just fine and there’s so many other things to focus on in life?
What if you could learn to like what you see in the mirror, instead of letting it ruin your entire day?
What if you get to finally do the thing you’ve been holding off on doing ‘until you lost the weight’, i.e. get a fun hair cut, buy a cute dress, book a holiday by the beach, celebrate your birthday (with some cake!), going on fun date nights, trying out a new hobby, etc. etc. etc. – the list is endless, really!
